The newest trend is called snow-shoe hiking. It is the ideal addition to Nordic Walking, where you can discover the most beautiful winter landscapes.
Whether you walk comfortably or treat sport as something more demanding, whether you go on your own or whether as part of a guided hiking trip: snow-shoe hiking will have you moving in deep snow or ice. The equipment can be hired locally.

If you prefer to move a bit faster, why not try out a number of cross-country skiing trails. The entire Rosengarten Latemar area offers 80 km of cross-country skiing trails. At Lake Karer, they even offer cross-country skiing courses. The high cross-country skiing trails will let your heart beat faster and offer wonderful look-out points - one is more beautiful than the next!

Toboggan fun for all the family or with friends is offered on three toboggan runs in Welschnofen Karersee. Leave your sledge at home as you can hire it locally. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, you can enjoy a ride on your sledge on the flood-lit toboggan run until 10pm. If you want to avoid the walk home, just take the shuttle bus.

Feel the snow underneath your feet, breathe in the clean winter air and let the sunrays warm you up. Winter hiking plays an important part in Welschnofen Karersee. On 30 km of snow-cleared hiking paths, you can enjoy the snowy winter landscapes, discover the tracks animals left behind and try out some mulled wine in one of the huts.

At the Welschnofen sports fields, you can glide across the ice with a musical backdrop: the ice-rink is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can hire your ice skates locally. Three times weekly, you can enjoy ice-skating until 10 p.m. and twice weekly curling.
