In the nearby provincial capital of Bozen, you can admire the latest fashions, enjoy shopping and experience culture. The world-famous 5,400 year old mummy called Ötzi is exhibited here, but also the Natural Science Museum, Castle Runkelstein called the Bilderburg are worth a visit. With this amount of culture around you, you might enjoy a cappuccino in one of the many street cafes and to watch the world go by.

The South Tyrolean Wine Road and a visit to Lake Kaltern should not be missed off your list of excursions. Numerous wine-growing estates and local snack bars line the way to Lake Kaltern, the warmest bathing lake in the Alpine area, which is enjoyed by water ‘babies' from April to December.

The spa town of Meran has many highlights. Enjoy a walk along the Passer promenade, admire the vivid flower beds, or follow in the footsteps of Empress Sissi up to Dorf Tirol, where you should definitely visit the imposing castle. The gardens of Castle Trauttmansdorff were awarded as the 'most beautiful gardens in Italy 2006'. The most unique tourism museum in the Alpine region has its home here. The 51.000 m² large theme park in Meran, which was opened in 2005, offers 25 pools, different types of sauna and the most modern fitness facilities - just everything your (Wellness) heart could wish for. A particular highlight is the snow room, where you can cool down after a sauna. Here, snow falls lightly from the ceiling!
